Ana Ferraz – flutist

Taking advantage of a, short,  break at the Conservatoire national supérieur de musique et de danse de Lyon, the talented flutist, Ana Ferraz came to Portugal to take a photo shoot with us, for portfolio, posters and promotion. It was a fantastic day, a lot of work but also a lot of fun. Here are some of the images we made … Thank you, Ana for such a fun day. “Born in  Maia, Ana Ferraz began her musical studies at the Music Conservatory of Maia, where she finished 5th grade in Professor Marco Pereira’s class. In 2010, she continued his studies at the Professional Art School of Vale do Ave, ARTAVE, in the class of the same professor, Marco Pereira, having finished as the best wind instrument player, and then performing solo with the Artave Symphony Orchestra. She has attended courses of improvement directed by Professors Nuno Inácio, Adriana Ferreira, Michel Bellavance and Júlia Gállego, Derek Jones, Herman van Kogelenberg, Nicole Esposito, Patrick Gallois, Sarah Rumer, Julien Beaudiment and Adam Walker, among others. She joined several orchestras, including the Artave Symphony Orchestra, the Aproarte Symphony Orchestra, the Musique de Genève Orchestra of the Haute École, the Orchester Animato Foundation, the Orchestra XXI, the Orchestra du cnsmd Lyon and the National Orchestra of Lyon. Working with some nationally and internationally renowned masters, among them Luís Machado, Ernst Schelle, Kevin Wauldron, Emilio de César, Howard Williams, Pierre Bleuse, Thierry Fischer, Fabrice Pierre, Peter Csaba, among others. Ana Ferraz was awarded in several competitions, in particular with the 1st place in the ’14th International Santa Cecília Music Contest ‘, 1st place in the’ Jastrzebie-Zdroj International Flute Competition ‘in Poland and last year with the 2nd place In the contest Young Musicians prize, chamber music category. In 2013, she was admitted to the Haute École de Musique de Genève in the class of Professor Michel Bellavance where she finished her degree with the highest mark. Currently holds his master’s degree in performance at the Conservatoire National Supérieur De Musique et Danse de Lyon, with Julien Beaudiment, assistant professor Emmanuelle Reville and professor of piccolo, Gilles Cottin. Ana Ferraz is a fellow from the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation. She is regularly called to perform with the Lyon Opera and the National Orchestra of Lyon. “
